Alabama’s Court System
Alabama Courts of Appeal are not courts that try cases. These courts do not have witnesses, juries or court reporters. These courts are responsible for the review of actions or decisions of the trial courts that review the record on questions of law or allegations in procedural error. These courts are restricted to the evidence and exhibits that were presented at the trial court level at the beginning of the case.
Other courts in Alabama include the trial courts, which are located in each county, as well as the juvenile and traffic courts. The court system also offers a judicial college that provides conferences and training to individuals in the state. Additionally, you can obtain forms and information on collecting child support in the state through the Administrative Office of the Courts.
